So im pickin up an Integra GSR cai off of ebay

Gonna pick up a couple of red couplers from autozone or somewhere once i recieve the intake
Ill post up pics when i get it here.
then ill get to installing it.

the cai shipped yesterday.
hopefully it will get here next week sometime.

it should work great, i used a ebay 94-01 gsr cai on my aveo and with some minor trimming it fits awesome, and sounds great, with better throttle response and power.
just one word of advice, measure twice and cut once, there isnt much to trim off but if you cut too much off you'll have to buy a new one. i measured wrong the first time and almost cut the pipe before i realized i measured wrong, i would have ruined the whole thing. :shock: even tho the ebay cai's are cheap, it still would suck having to wait for a new one lol.

Finally found someone that will help with the cai install should be on tomorrow sometime. ill take some pics and what not when its finished.
Remember to get a bypass valve.

did you melt your little rubber grommet thingy? i just left the stock tube and attached the pipe to it, ill post pics in a bit, then again maybe i will tomorrow instead, lol so i can show everyone how to do it cause i just put my own in 2 days ago.

what i did was cut the piping to shorten it up then i took the other pipe and it matched up fine then i cut the end just before the last elbow so i could rotate it inwards....i also had to drill a whole into the pipe to fit the sensor in and then i just put silicone around that.
silicone, thats what that is, i thought u had melted your holder for the sensor onto the piping, i was like wtf?? haha sorry i didnt mention the sensor, lol
lol ok i was confused there for a second....but tomorrow ill have better pics and ill try to type out a more detailed explanation of what i did.

Yes but the only way the the bypass valve is going to work unless the hole pipe is under water. In AveoSSTurbo's case it's not a waste of money because of the filter location being so low.
In AveoSam's case, the filter is so high the only way the bypass will work is if the water goes above the front wheels.
The way the bypass works is when there is a sudden change in pressure from a lot of water entering the intake pipe. so just droplets won't change the pressure enough to make the bypass work so water will still be entering the engine.
When I said it was a waster of money I thought the location of the filter would have been higher.

AEM makes a bypass and you can get them on ebay im gonna pick one up here soon. before we get a hefty rain storm.
