      Beginners modifications

Hey guys, im Nemesis from South Africa. I got a 2009 Chevy Aveo 1.6. I just recently installed a short air induction kit on my car and gettin good torque and power out of the car. But what i want to ask is, at the end of the year im planning on putting modified manifold and powerflow exhaust, will the stock engine be able to handle those modifications?

      Shouldn't have any problems.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

Thank you, is there any specific size regarding the diameter of the pipe that will best suit the engine that i shud know of?

Did you also do similar modifications to your Aveo or wat modifications did you make?

What do the guys refer to when talkin about the headers?

      is yours a 16v?

i would say 2" free flowing "open" exhaust, or 2.25" if you replace all the factory components, like resonators, mufflers, etc..

header replaces the manifold off the head.

Here's a picture of a cat-delete header (made by xiaogary in Singapore). This header removes the catalytic converter altogether, getting rid of the biggest restriction in your exhaust system. You could do this depending on how strict your emission system testing is.

You can read more about it here:

To fasten super plugs igniting the engine accurately within the shortest time, and also to empower the piston pressure to its maximun explosion. To all kind of petrol vehicles.

Xiaogary did have the headers for sale on eBay a few days ago. Just search eBay for "Aveo header " and if he has one for sale - it will pop up.

As far as that air compressor thing, a good rule is that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Plus, on the picture at that link, it's held on with zip ties...

      Hey me agen

When putting in the CAI, do 1 use the original airpipe and pc inlet on the original pipe or wat? Coz if u do then u have to cut it out from the original pipe.

It's glued in there. You have to carefully cut the glue with a sharp blade. All the riffles and stuff in the original pipe would defend the purpose of the air free-flowing into the engine.

      Look through this: viewtopic.php?f=41&t=27397&hilit=intake+cut&start= 60

      Re: Beginners modifications

Thanx for that, i was plannin on doin that but just wanted to make sure. Oh... i think i mite have bearings problems ecspicially for the rear sides, bt i only gt abt 30 000km on the clock, is bearings also part of the warranty of the car and is it a common problem?

What size wheels would you recommend for the Aveos? 15" or 17", just to close up that arch? Will lower springs close the arch with a set of 15", pleas advice?
