Blown transmission. Upgrade?

My transmission in my first gen aveo popped and a piece of it shot through the oil pan. What I was wondering is if anyone has a recommendation for a tyranny that can withstand more abuse if one exists or a build?

It would seem that you do have some compatible transmissions, but it's debatable if you'd see any increase in reliability. It's the same pool, all the children (of GM) swim (and probably pee) in it. It's very unlikely you'd find something that'd bolt up without requiring days and days of labor.

If your transmission just up and "popped", is it at all possible that you were simply abusing it well beyond what it was designed to do?

Yeah me and the car have been through a lot together but it's not designed for it and it's showing. Thank you for your assistance
