Someone posted a how-to on this site, I forget who. there is no problem porting/ overboring the throttle body, but dont look for huge, even noticeable gains. it will help flow but nothing enormous. but with the right tools, if you do it its a free upgrade. I also do not know what is safe, from what ive seen the aluminum tube before the butterfly is fairly thin already.
from my observation, there are other restrictions that should be opened up before the "metering" control being opened up will create much benefit.
I do it in a nissan sentra (méxican tsuru) 2001 with engine GA16DNE, y bored 2mm of diámeter....
in that car i was polish & ported engine, and cut the valves in three angles, have CAI, with AEM dry filter, header hot shot, and magnaflow high flow cat, custom cat back at 2" inches...
