I just don't see the point in wasting all that money on it.

And that is why there is so little aftermarket support in North America for these cars. Other parts of the world have body kits, headers and intakes available. Any engine can be made to make more horsepower - they are all just air pumps. If somebody wants to be innovative, we should encourage them - we could all benefit from their experience.

Thanks DG88, if u like ur car go with it, if not sell it. The OG thread starter is from South Africa, there is much more OEM equipment to choose from should he go the swap route, opel is pretty big down there and transmissions from the same family as ours have been available since the mid 90s, not to mention turbo variants to swap. To each his own...
I do have one. And there is a level of practicality to improving some cars.
I don't know about other people but every single car I've owned has not been left stock. For some reason I can't drive around in something that is identical to someone's else. It's my personal decision to spend my money on my vehicle whether it is an econo **** box or not. Most aveo owners do buy these cars for cheap transportation but some try to stray away from the norm to see what all they can do to theirs to be different.
