CAI a bad idea for where I live?

Hey folks. I am considering changing my stock air filter in my 2004 Aveo5. I live in Edmonton, Alberta. There isn't a whole lot of rain here, but as most know we get lots of snow he he. Lots of snow could mean lots of slushy crap. Would a CAI be a bad idea for the climate I live in? I like the idea of better engine performance, but from what I have read I am a little skeptical to purchase a CAI if my engine is going to be flooded by water/slushy-snowy-crap. Any ideas?

A CAI would be fine for the summer but the sludge for the winter could be bad, i would recommend getting a CAI and get a WAI to switch out for use in the winter, if you want to do the CAI all year round get a water pypass
