      CAI and snow ?'s

Now that it's winter, I want to ask how the CAI's are holding up? Most of them seem to pull from the bottom of the bumper in those nice little holes down there. The problem I see with this is that mine have been getting filled up with snow and slush. Has anyone in the snow filled area's had this probelm, and how are you solving it?

Which one do you have? For the winter I would transform it to a SRI instead

I don't have one right now, I just know the preferred method is making a vent out of the fog light holes in the bumper, and that is what I was concerned about.

Rabbit, you just solved every question I have about this mod. Thank you.

Ok, because if you order the cheaper one (not AEM) you can just remove the second pipe and connect your air filter inside the engine bay for the winter I guess?

I'm to lazy to switch, I could just run a larger pipe Inside the fender well and put a narrow filter in there. My expensive thougt is a hybrid cold air short ram, that uses a hood scoop to pull the air into the car.

winter down here in texas arent usually bad but last week was prety nasty, were Im at we had 2-3 inches of sleet and rain followed by up to 6 inches of snow in some areas. with the AEM I have, I also drilled holes into the fog light cover (black plastic in place of where fogs would go) for better air flow. I had no problems at all driving around in the snow

Yeah, here in iowa 6 inches of snow is considered normal. We are also not a flat state like some people think. All the hills and uneven ground make for a lot of flood and puddle hazzards to worry about. I need a higher up intake location to minimize the risk of sucking something other than air into my intake.

Having been where daug1502 lives, there is plenty hills, crappy roads, puddles, slush and you name it. It's also very pretty overlooking the Mississippi. Can you put a metal screen on the inside where the intake lives? At least block the bigger stuff.

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
