      Can I put a 2009 Aveo motor into a 2005 Aveo?

Hey guys! You know the story, broken timing belt, bent valves, the whole nine yards. I'm in the market to swap in a motor, but having difficulties finding a 2005 motor. I did, however, find a 2009 motor very cheap locally. Considering buying it, if its compatible with the 2005 chassis and transmission. Any chance one of you would know if its compatible?

I have a base 2005 Chevy Aveo. Its an automatic and as basic as it gets.

      Cheers!

you might be able to bolt it in, but the Electrical Architecture between an Ecotec and an E-TEC Engine is completely different; the Ecotec Engine is Drive By Wire as well, so you'll need to replace your Accelerator pedal assembly.
