People usually buy economical cars due a lack of excess funds. So the aftermarket kinda figures if we don't have the funds to buy a more expensive car, we probably don't have funds to buy their parts.

Not at all....and most people who buy these cars never have an intention of modding them.
the percent of aveo owners who who are looking to mod them might be small. but the buyers of the aveo are small too. so it might be greater than i think. hell i could have bought a automatic with a/c and CD cobalt coupe for what i paid for my aveo. they discount the hell out of those things. but look at the after market for cavaliers, i would guess maybe 1-2% of cavalier owners do anything to their cars but drive them. but they got lumped in because of the potential style and the fact a lot of teenagers got moms old car.
honda fit, yaris, scion, hyundai, they are all cheap econo-boxes that have just a small percentage of people who buy them for more than fuel economy and price. the hyundai i don't know much about, but the fit scion and yaris have performance parts from people who are brand loyal. just like vw owners get stuff for all the vw cars because there are companies that only make vw stuff. but we own a "chevy" which mean the guys that love and make stuff for the corvettes and camaros don't give a s*** about our little aveo. aside from the cavalier, and now cobalt none of the rest of the chevy line have the huge after market following. you can say hhr, but its swap-able parts, and a character car like the pt cruiser. that is part of why aveo stuff is unavailable. and i imagine a lot of what is actually available is only because the car is in europe and asia.
I think I'm gonna do my exhaust on my 09' hatch similar to "gOaSt"'s exhaust on his black aveo. Run a 60 series flowmaster and pipe it out the side in front of the rear driver side tire. His sounds really nice on youtube, looks trick too.

I recommend, unless you build your engine fairly far, just having an exhaust shop build an crinkle bent exhaust. It's really cheap compared to mandrel bends and the extra gains on an 1.6 with basic bolts ons is tiny over the crinkle bent. I recommend doing a header back with a magnaflow hi-flow CAT, magnaflow muffler, and depending how quiet you want it then a resonator of some sort. Should cost under $400 total and give you some pep
Chuck da cat cause it is absolute ****, you lose 10% of your power!! do a 50mm stainless exhaust from the header or stock outlet manifold and there you are, I gained 15kw by takin out da cat and doing just the exhaust (no aftermarket header). And it costs basically nothing!
