      Catalytic Converter.

Has anyone had any trouble with their Aveo's Cat? My 2007 Aveo LT has had a check engine warning on for a few weeks and I just got it scanned and it appears the Cat is the problem. I'm just looking for any input or advice and to see if this problem crops up often.

      what was the code?

o2 sensor issues are more often an issue than the CAT itself, but you never know.

I don't know the specific code but I definitely saw something about the cat pop up.

And for those of us who DIY, but don't own much diagnostic equipment, this is almost an automatic thing to try for the cat-related codes. It's much less expensive than a new cat, a relatively easy job to do, and probably will eventually fail, even if it hasn't already. Of all the "part hanging" things to try, this one probably makes the most sense.

There is a B2AAA code that is a pending catalytic converter failure code (forget what it correlates to, P04....). Most likely it is a failed post CAT O2 sensor. Are you throwing other codes? Is the car otherwise running fine? Some other codes related to this would be:
      P0036
      P0138
      P0140
      P0141

If your sensor is bad, then the ECU is also going to report a bad CAT or a pending CAT failure.
