After doing a ton or work, I still am having the same proble, when the car gets hot, the light flashes....
I dropped the pan and removed a good inch of sluge out of the bottom. I lso replaced the oil pump, due to low pressure.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

try replacing the sensor? If you had that much sludge in the oil pan, you probably need to at least pull the sensor and clean the passage it sits in.
If you have been running the wrong viscosity for the temperatures in arizona. (there might be a 10-20w difference due to temp) then you might might need to step back down to the appropriate thicker oil.
If you are having such a sludging problem then you might have a sludge problem in the head too.
Thanks for the reply.
I replaced the sensor, but am still using 5-30. I will try 10-30 and see if that helps.
Thanks.
TW, new head to as the timing belt broke... LOL.
I have tested the oil pressure and am running 15 PSI when at temp. Since I replaced the sensor before removing the sludge, maybe I shoud try another new one?
I had the same problem with my 2007. Light would flicker when the vehicle was hot. Took it to the dealer and they pressure tested the system and found no leak. They replaced the oil pressure sensor as well as corroded wires leading up to it. Fixed the problem.
Found out that Chevy has an updated sensor... Chasing the wire tonight so I can replace it. The new OEM is less than Autozone's....

Thanks to all for your help!
I am new to working on my car myself but i have done a little work on it. I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo and i have cleaned out the throttle body, replaced the thermostat myself, and changed the oil twice. My car keeps giving me a lot of troubles and the low oil pressure light flickers on and off when i'm sitting at a hot idle. I changed to synthetic 5w-20 the first oil change and that didn't help the oil pressure light flickering so i changed the oil again to 10w-40 and i'm still having the same problem, its just that my oil lamp not flickers at a slightly slower rate. I was told i should remove the oil pan and check the pickup tube and screen for oil sludge buildup as well as the oil pan. I'm not sure how to go about doing this and i haven't found much help with searching online. Could you please provide me with detailed steps on how to remove the oil pan to check out everything? I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
Haven't had this happen with mine (yet), so I don't have any first-hand information, but the 2 guys who posted previously fixed the problem with a new oil pressure sensor (at least the first guy did for sure). You might want to try that first. What does "a lot of troubles" mean? Did you buy it new, or just recently get it?
i recently got it in october. It had 135k miles on it and now it has about 135700 miles on it. I have replaced the oil pressure sensor and that didnt fix the problem I am holding 6 psi at an idle and the minimum specs are 8.88 psi at a hot idle... and i have replaced the thermostat, reverse switch, fuel cap, idle air control motor (even though i had it replaced and they told me it would fix my problems with my idling rpms getting stuck at 3000 rpms but it still happens every once in a while) all plugs and wires, radiator cap and a coolant flush, and i have changed the oil twice so far.
