      cleaning the throttle body

Is there any thing I need to be careful of when cleaning the throttle body?
      Is the gasket reusable?
Does coolant go through the throttle body?
How much coolant will I lose?
      Thanks.

Is it possible to clean it with TB cleaner sprayed on a lint free rag ?

      RockAuto.com lists a gasket for less than $ 3.00 + freight .

The photo on their website looks like the TB has 2 hose connections .

You did not say what year ?

      God bless

The TPS and IAC on your '05 can both be removed and cleaned separately. I cleaned the TB on my '05 without removing it, so you can do it either way. I didn't disconnect the coolant, but the loss should be minimal if you do.

Turbo, if you can manually open the throttle by hand (models with a manual throttle cable) you should be able to clean it really good on the car. Yes the gasket (O-ring) is reusable, when I did our 06 LT I drained the cooling system (to flush) at the same time so I did not loose any coolant.

Thanks guys... I have cleaned'mhe throttle body on my Trailblazer before... I'm mostly concerned with any problems other people have ran into when doing this, so I guess I will buy a gasket tomorrow at Napa.
