I want to make my own CAI, what exactly do I need to make one and how much would it cost? Idk much about engines but I'm willing to learn. Thanks a lot

I made mine from auto zone/specter parts. Off the top of my head u need a 2 1/2 to 3" coupler, a 90 degree bend, 2 more of the same coupler to connect the maf sensor, about a 4 inch piece of pipe, a 3" coupler, a 60 degree bend going down to the fender we'll, and ur filter. I had problems with the bend down the fender we'll and later bought a 6 inch silicone sleeve to add flexibility. Check out intakes.com, or something like that for parts, they are out of WA state. Other members buy the CAI for a 92 accord n slightly modify it.
just throw in a K&N air filter. A bigger intake won't make a difference on an aveo.
The debate on intakes can go on forever. Yes that's what I did first with a come filter on a stock intake tube. However I have read that the length of the intake piping matters, longer pipe for higher rpm range, once again this can all be endleas and arguments may ensue
Molo if ur in Cali don't u need a CARB #? U can also modify ur stock air box. Run ur own piping like 2 1/2 from the throttle body to the air box n slip the stock pipe over to make it look stock. Then go into ur fender we'll and remove the S shaped Jose at the bottom of the box. U can then run a flex Jose to front bumper from air box to create a ram air effect ,check out the old threads on this
I have plans to take a K&N Blackhawk cold air induction and install it in place of the factory intake box.
why? ,..,.,.,.

On a Chevrolet Camero SS, notice how much it sounds better with the K&N.
