      holy crap!! can you imagine the invoice on that if it werent under warranty?

      He showed me the dealer invoice...It would have been $1748 plus tax.

      so what was leaking so we know what to look for ?

      also the heater core is that not the big black thing under the glove compartment ? I though that a few screws and it comes out with out taking apart the dash..

      You won't be able to see the leak but you will smell the coolant inside the vehicle and if given enough time it will begin to puddle on both the driver's and passenger's side carpeting. The core is located between the dash and the firewall. You basically have to remove everything to get to it. On a good note, the dealer said they haven't had to replace a heater core on ANY Chevrolet model in over five years so it is not a common occurence. Just my luck to get the 1 in a million defective one.

      Did you do the work yourself? I'm faced with this at 50,000. I had a dealer by pass the core with a small piece of hose. I'd dig into it, but have no manual
