A couple more gauge questions
I finally finished my oil pressure gauge, and I have to ask... what's a typical reading for an Aveo? At speed it'll run as high as 60 pounds, and at a warm idle it will drop to 20. Is that a normal range, or is the gauge not reading accurately?
I'm also looking to install a vacuum gauge. I have a short ram intake. Do I drill and tap a hole right into the pipe? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: A couple more gauge questions
A vac gauge goes inbetween the throttle body and the head.
Re: A couple more gauge questions
i thought the aveo oil pressure was supposed to be like 40-50 psi, if i remember right from daewootech
Re: A couple more gauge questions
most cars drop at idle. but the readings depend on where you mounted the sender, and what not..
is it mechanical or digital?

post pics of your install
Re: A couple more gauge questions
The gauges I used are from the Sunpro mini gauge set, which are mechanical. I suspect that the gauge reads low at idle because of the difference in elevation. But anyway. Another member here mounted the same gauges in the center console, and I did the same. I am also putting a dual pod on the top of the dash on the passenger side, which will house an ammeter and a vacuum gauge. Which vacuum line is best for the tee? I'll be working under the car this weekend if it gets warm, so I'll take some pictures around then.

Re: A couple more gauge questions
i meant where in the engine? usually the drop is less between the pump and the oil filter, but the drop could be down to 20 psi if you mounted the pickup line near the head...

Any line between the throttle body and head (mainly the intake manifold). Does not really matter which one.
Re: A couple more gauge questions
I took out the stock pressure sensor on the rear of the engine and put together a tee, so the line is nowhere near the filter. Oh, I need to buy a couple of barbed fittings to splice that vacuum line. Do you know the inside diameter of one of those things?

Re: A couple more gauge questions
STOP, there is a unused vacuum nipple on the right side of the manifold, use that, i did and my vacuum gauge works great
