No Problem. Reason I say this is because of the GM parts interchangeability. All GM engines have the same bolt pattern except a few oddball engines like the ones from Daewoo or the Buick 3.8L 3800 V6. This means you could use just about any transmission/engine combo due to the fact that they will bolt right up.
Hell, even the Pontiac Solstice used parts from other cars.
      Example:

      - 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 - LQ1 3.4L DOHC 24 valve semi-hemi V6, 210 HP, 215 ft-lbs of torque, 4T60e 4 speed automatic with O/D.... 123,000+ miles. Slowly resto-modding it.

I personally love the parts interchangeability as it allows you to let your mind run wild when making a project car. Anyone who wants a proper enthusiast car starts with a GM product and uses other GM parts to make it better. They're cars for enthusiasts who would like to make something majorly different with the least amount of hassle. After the Buick Regal GS is released, I can just imagine someone using a wrecked one to make an AWD Cobalt, Saturn Ion or Pontiac G5.

Look at my signature for my fun car. OMG that 7,000 RPM redline V6 screamer sets my pulse racing and makes my pants tight.

So I know this thread has been dead a while, but I was just looking up the Regal GS and apparently no AWD models made it to production. So I was wondering just how interchangeable GM parts are. Could the AWD tranny be taken out of say a Terrain, or Equinox (basically same vehicle)??
