You are pulling up posts that are over a year old.
Different country have different aveo engine. Comes in SOHC and DOHC. Comes in different bore and stroke also. US have the best, 1.6 DOHC (longest stroke 81.5mm and biggest bore 79.0mm.
In Singapore came 2 version, 1.5 SOHC, and 1.4 DOHC (the one I had, "had" because now its 1.7 DOHC).
The 1.5 SOHC have the same stroke as 1.6DOHC, except bore is smaller, similar to bore of 1.4.
1.4 DOHC has smallest bore (77.9mm) and smallest stroke (73.4mm). I had changed the stroke to 1.6 type, by using 1.6 crankshaft. And bored the piston to 2mm bigger than a 1.6 DOHC, which means its 3.1mm bigger than my original size piston. I am using a custom made 11.1:1 compression ratio piston from wiseco.
With the shaved heads (2mm off), ported and polished heads and 1.7 liters displacement (1729cc) to be exact, producing 146hp on the wheel with compression ratio estimated to be 12.1-12.5:1.
Yes. I am also disapointed with the 2.0 liters output when I heard it last time (this is a old thread, heard it discussed else where, which forum, I forgotten). Its too conservative. I head there will be a 1.4 or 1.6 turbo version. WIth 120+hp also. But thats a good base platform to start with. At lease with a turbo inside, its legal to change to bigger turbo and run higher boost. Those vehicle without turbo originally is highly illegal to add a turbo.
Better to continue an old post then start a new one on the same topicOriginally Posted by XJCasper
Thank you, that's what I was thinking. I'm new here and what's the first thing all the new people do? they look through the topics to see if someones already done what they're looking for. Why start a new thread, just add my 2 cents for reference for someone else.Originally Posted by y2daniel1981

Ok well that's what I did anyways when I first joined. I'm inpatient, so why start a thread that takes forever to get an answer on when you can just research everyone elses threads lol. And I've only posted 90 threads and they were'nt all old LMAO. I wish my 2 cents would've been 50 bucks by now...I'd have my new carbon fiber pillars then lol.
