I have a 1st gen aveo sedan and i was wondering.. is there any type of tuning chip made for it yet? something i would try that is at a reasonable price.. Like under 150... thanks fro any input.
No tuning system is going to be that cheap. And a "chip" is some made up term. I just entered the aveo world but none of the normal companies like superchips or hypertech have a hand held tuning system yet. You could look into HP tuners.
JET chip has been verified and is recommended several times on this site. The key is, you get what you pay for. 15/30/40 dollar chips are garbage.
"The chip will lean out ur air fuel ratios and advance your timing. A good chip will usually give u about a 10% gain in hp. Yes u should run 91octane. Jet recommends a lower thermostat but u dont need that in our cars."
people expect massive gains, which is am unrealistic expectation.
A tune, and a chip are two different things. JET makes that chip I was referring to..plugs into ECU if I'm not mistaken. Trifecta makes a tune specifically for, at least the 2009 model aveo. There are other threads where you'll be able to find more information...just seaarch for trifecta. I am unfamiliar with the maf thing you're talking about, but it isn't what I'm referring to in either case. As far as I know...the only legit tune is through trifecta. Pooh man, I believe got it..I don't recall
My phone makes it diifficult to back up and rewrite things. I understand you probably know the difference between the two. But, read this...this is the post I was referring to
