Dunno, that kind of depends. They probably wont take much just because they are of cheap materials.

flywheel if i remember correctly. but a 50 shot should be fine.

Transmissions aren't rated by HP but by TQ... In the stock 1.6L engine you should be fine with 150TQ at the flywheel.

You could get away with more by upgrading things like axles, bearings, light-weight rotors/wheels, etc.

Adding an LSD would exacerbate the problem though

I thought I read somewhere that the Saturn Astra EcoTec will drop right into our cars but not confirmed on that.

      Re:

It was RoRo, he blew his engine on a 75 dry shot, with the proper fuel upgrades you can probably run a 50 wet shot alright
I was thinking of having 35-50 wet shots which activates by full TPS signal. But then was adviced that high compression and NOS do not mixed. And hesitated for a while. I have no problem having good tuner here. Moreover, I already had high pressure SARD fuel regulator and WALBRO 255 liters fuel pump already installed in my aveo to give more fuel if I were to play turbo or nos.

Was considering 82021 ZEX kit. Cost abt $600 excluding shipping into my country. Do they ship dry empty tank with open cap or with NOS inside the tank? I am afraid the kit will get stuck in the custom due to dangerous goods.

Anymore info on the aveo with NOS?

I almost had nitrous on my aveo, but then someone offered to buy the kit from me for more then I paid, so I sold it! With your fuel mods you should be ok but I would not go over 50 shot with an internally stock engine. A wet kit is nice because it delivers fuel too, but there is also a danger of "pooling" where the fuel collects in a certain spot and the engine suddenly runs super lean and goes boom. I think I would rather have a dry system that taps into the injectors to run more fuel based on things like bottle pressure or the MAP sensor. Dont get one that adds fuel based on your a/f ratio from your o2 sensor, by the time that sees that it's lean it be too late.

      Re: Ecotec swap....

To bad I'm so dang old. Thats not a plus...

But reading this thread has me remembering a time, a few decades back...the 80's.

Back then, rwd was so much more adaptable to going fast. GM trannies worked behine 4 -6 - or High horsepower V8's.
350 hp/ 300lbs of tourque was as simple as buying the right stuff and bolting it on. They were known as 3 and 4 beer bolt-on's.

Rear axle's could hold a ton of performance power.

Everything weighed a ton more, but you had room to work on it. And the weight balance was decent. If the car still plowed through a turn, you could steer with the gas pedal and rear tires if you dared.

And the gas was cheap enough to make performance cruising very affordable.

Today you have to dance around fragile eggshell parts, Governtment regulated computer command systems, Front wheel spin, and one hell of a weight distribution issue.

That being said. The compact, throw around size of the Aveo is much more fun to zip around in, If I could only get it to be as fast and tourqey as the old days just as easily.

Oh well, sorry for hijacking the thread!
