I can't really speak on the emissions part - We don't have testing here. So a lot of performance cars don't keep their cats here. The police only car that it's not stupid loud.
I would really like to see what it can do. And like I said I don't have a Cat so I couldn't really do an emission test for you guys to let you know if it worked well or not....
Emissions is beyond the cat, without knowing specifics of what systems those car have in other countries, there might be no coding to run the egr for example, or they will have had a system that your car does not.
There are reasons why i said to have a spare ecu, oh, and i would put the spare ecu in and tune that. And have the original as the "back up" if needed.
Well I called the Pick'n Pull here in Columbus. They are going to check for me and let me know if I can go pick one up from them.
The closest pick and pull with an ECU is Arkansas.... well looks like ebay here I come :P
Well that sucks about HPTuners. But if upsolute actually works, then wouldn't you be able to go into the ECU and rewrite the fuel maps etc for supporting mods? like a cai, or bigger injectors. Stuff like that
I haven't heard back from them so not sure how it actually works... I am studying electrical engineering, so I am talking to my DSP professor to see if maybe I can try and just crack the ECU myself.
I mean I wouldn't know much about HOW to tune it right - BUT I could at least get you guys the data to help maximize it maybe. I will let you know if I can more detail.
Well it's really all computer programming like you said Siege. And the difficult part would be to actually "write" the tune. But maybe we can put our minds together and get it figured out....or fry an ECM. Either way, I'll help anyway I can.
Ya I am trying to see what is what on it. I work with a few different micro-controllers, so I am sure once I figure out what the triggers are I can go from there. A buddy and I have an old VroomPC - I will hook it up hopefully next week or something. So I am going to see if I can start there with some of the data mapping And see what I can get out of the OBD Port
Vince wrote triffecta sent pictures of my ECU, and told me that it may be possible to tune my ECU, but I have very light mods, exhaust, CAI and I'm following the header and pulley ....
He tells me he would pay 245usd and 300 of the rescheduling ....
But it is possible to reprogram the ECOtec, maybe ...
I am hoping that the dollar is stable ....
