      emissions system+CAI

I just resently finished installing a full cold-air-intake system in my 09 aveoLT(automatic) but every 2-3 days i get a pair of falt codes related to the emissions control system one being PO102(MAF A circuit low input) and the second PO113(IAT sensor 1 circuit high input). After the falt codes come up my performance goes way down. I'e cleared them a couple of times and doing that restored my HP/TQ but they keep coming back.
Any ideas on wether this is harmful on my engine or is its doing any harm to the cat? Is there a way around thesee falt codes?

Joseph, PM rabbit, he's got a 2nd gen Aveo and he's running a CAI without problems as far as I know... You sure you installed it correctly? (i.e. not upside down or sideways to where the air is not getting to it properly).. That's the only way I can see it would give a faulty code... You could try reseting the ECU too (not just wiping the codes) so it relearns everything, but I would check the MAF position just to make sure it's installed in the proper direction (even though it should be fool proof)...

check your sensors, but you would want to reset the ecu anyways by disconnecting your battery for 30mins or so

Are you using a K&N or other "oiled screen" filter?

I feel like a total and complete idiot now. I dont know about the older models, but on mine the MAF conector has a lock switch in the side of it, and I guess when i put it on the first time it got bumped to the lock position, blocking it from conecting all the way. It took me an hour and 3 gallons of gas in my moms van before i thought to check the lock switch. from the naked eye the conector looks fine and secure, but once you get closer its obvious its improperly installed.
I real apriciate how fast all the sujestions came. thank you.

Happens to the best of us. I took apart the gauges on my 09' a few times and wondered why none of my needles worked when I put them back together, only to realize at a closer glance that the clear trim piec on the inside of my cluster was just ever so slightly pinning down the tips of the needles in place.

      True that, wolf.

And for the older generation Aveos - we don't have a MAF sensor, per se, but we do have a sensor there and it does have a locking clip.
