Just got a engine damper meant for EG6 and modify it to fit on aveo.

nice......what does it do
prevent the engine from moving back and forth, redusting wheel hop
Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, rather than drive a fast car slow!
Not much unless your running enough HP to make it beneficial.Originally Posted by acdc1287
how does this compare to poly filled mounts?
Normally worse since the engine movement will bent the little metal braces that it attaches to.Originally Posted by petrified.rabbit
it might, but its a damper so it still has play to it, it just smoths out the engine movementOriginally Posted by aveodude

If it was a solid bar, maybe it would bend the brackets but it's not. It's just a damper and it still allows the engine to move.
I had my engine on the dyno, and when it was there I seen it had a whole lot of movement
If you have a chance to play with an engine damper, you would know that an engine damper is not possible to be pressed in by hand. So its actually no different from a solid bar. As for the bending of brackets, I dont think it can bend so thick a bracket. The engine is almost stationary now, and transfer more outputs onto the wheels faster during pick up due to less rocking.
