      engine question

So i was driving, no CEL no problems and all of a sudden my car started to spudder.

Pulled over towed it home (it was late) noticed a spark plug was pushed out of the head and the gap was closed.

I regapped the plug and jammed it back in the block to see whats up and the car ran perfect for 3 minutes before i shut it back off.. what could have caused this?

ive read its called "no tolerance engine" idk what that means and ive also seen it can be as simple as a head gasket.. anyone have any ideas?

This may be completely unrelated but I had an old camry n my guy stripped the head by overtightening the plug. It sputtered for a coupl miles and shot the plug right out- exposing gas in the hole. Point being aluminum heads can be easily stripped, have u considered/checked this option??

well, since its not road worthy i would pull the head and check the piston and check the valves, if they are fine, probibly just to be safe i would pull the timing cover and check the time on the car, i would order a new head and gasket put it together and see what it does, also before pulling the head check compression on each cylinder, see it they are all close to the same.
what year is your car? and whats your mileage? and if you check the compression or are able to check it. would you mind posting that as well?

Sounds like your timing belt jumped or something for the piston to hit the spark plug. So that is going to need to be fixed. If the piston isn't damaged, you can get a new head, or possibly helicoil the existing one to fix it.

That's what I was thinking. But ther e is hmm o way for the sparkplug to go through the piston unless the sparkplug is to long. The onlything that can ho through the piston is the valves. Unless the rod breaks. Then it can shove the piston up farther.
So it has to be striped out. Thatd ehy I told him to check compredssion. But if it runs good for a bit. Then started runni mg like crap. There shoulfent be a thrown rod. So I'm leaning towards a new head.
