If you read carefully, it says, "if equiped". If not you simply skip the step. If there is no AC the ECM simply learns without an A/C load on the motor.

i read carefully, i was just kind of wondering if it was the exactly the same, because instead of a 10 step process, my car would get turned engine on for five seconds, off for five seconds, start the car, let it get to temp and shut it off..

Well I just went out and performed the relearn on the ECM and we'll see what happens in the next couple days.

I see your point, although it doesn't really act like its sensing a warm engine when its cold, goes on fast idle right away for a while. If the relearn doesn't do it maybe I can find the specs for the temp sensor and see what it reads cold.

if its in fast idle then its most likely not the temp switch.

The first two steps, you don't turn the engine on, just the ignition. That means you put the key to the on position. It's very important to do it the right way. That's what tells the ECM to go into learn mode.

How precise do you think one has to be with the 5 sec? I counted the one thousand one, one thousand two, etc.

I'm sure you don't need a stopwatch for this.
