      engine swap question

Could a 2.4 liter ecotec engine and six speed automatic from a 09 chevy mailbu fit in an aveo? If so, what would be needed? then the electronics..... thanks for your suggestions and ideas

i imagine it could fit, but that would be a "you need everything from the malibu" and "if you have to ask, you don't know what is involved, don't do it" answers from me.

your going to need complete harnesses from both cars to make a proper single harness. You will need custom mounts, axles, spindles possibly. Not to mention EVERY mechanical, cooling, ac, accessory etc. Possibly even cutting and modify the k frame, rails, rad support, etc

a lot of work in the dash swapping pedals, and possibly the rack and column for the steering / ignition etc

I fgured that, LOL! I actually found a wrecked 09 malibu with the four cylinder and six speed auto. Im used the rear wheel drive small block chevies.... big blocks are large, but still fit, usually! I was curious if anyone knew if that combo physically fits. I cant be the pioneer! Thanks again..

size wise the aveo engine compartment seems pretty big. but when you look at the larger GM cars in general then GM seams to have a lot of extra space in all there engines. Its not like Audi, Mercedes and such where the engine is shoehorned into a tight compartment.
