      ha except hasport has everything made for the k20 into a civic plus kpro for the computer, where as ecotec 2.2 swap is gonna be a nightmare because our cars a daewoo product while the ecotec is chevy plus the wiring night mare plus everything will have to be custom

      here is a VERY brief list of what will bolt in without changing the tranny if you wanted.

      •87-93 Pontiac Lemans 1.6 and 2.0 SOHC
      •87-94 Pontiac Sunbird 2.0 SOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
      •87-9? Chevy Cavalier 2.0 SOHC
      •80-CURRENT Vauxhall Astra 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 SOHC and DOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
      •80-CURRENT Opel Kadett/Astra 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 SOHC and DOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
      •Actually nearly every Opel or Vauxhall will bolt up including the V6 DOHC motors
      •08 Saturn Astra 1.8VVT DOHC
      •98-03 Daewoo Lanos 1.6 DOHC
      •98-03 Daewoo Leganza 2.2 DOHC
      •98-03 Daewoo Nubira 2.0 DOHC
      •04-08 Suzuki Forenza 2.0 DOHC
      •04-08 Suzuki Reno 2.0 DOHC
      •98 Isuzu Rodeo & Amigo 2.2 DOHC

      i think if you improvise it will only take 2500 dollars the ecotec motors can be found cheap and i think its a little easier than everyone on here is saying it is

      The crossmembers are different and the motor mounts are in different locations.

      To do the EcoTec Swap, You need:
      * Aveo Body
      * Ecotec Motor, Tranny, Wiring Harness, and ECU ($1000 for all)
      * Custom Crossmember
      * Custom Motor Mounts
      * Custom Wiring Harness (to get Aveo to mesh with Cobalt wiring)
      * Custom Axles (the Cobalt Axles won't bolt to the Aveo Hubs)

      Unless you have access to all your own stuff, it gets expensive with getting the motor to sit in there...

      +1 and xtreme simplified the list for you. once you got into it I'm sure there is a lot more to take into consideration.

      • is there even room
      • how will shift linkage be affected
      • like he said, you will need custome axles but will the trnny even line up with the steering nuckles

      i'm sure there is even more than this.
