Re: Engines list from the factory service manual
2.5 L DOHC L6? that sounds cool does it fit my 04 sadan? with out mods? just a bolt in replacement? what trans go with it?
Re: Engines list from the factory service manual
I think they are all the daewoo motors, not just ones that will fit. The only ones i think that will fit in directly are the 1.4-1.6 DOHC and maybe the SOHC. I have never heard of an aveo with a 2.5l. the l6 is a dif. series of motors i think... dont quote me tho. altho, if say the 1.8s were a direct drop in that would be nice.
Re: Engines list from the factory service manual
Hmmm, 2.5 l6 I don't think it would fit. If it did, it would probably rock the hell out of an Aveo..
Re: Engines list from the factory service manual
someone earlier, in another thread posted that. I think it was gse_turbo
Engine Swap
87-93 Pontiac Lemans 1.6 and 2.0 SOHC
87-94 Pontiac Sunbird 2.0 SOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
87-9? Chevy Cavalier 2.0 SOHC
80-CURRENT Vauxhall Astra 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 SOHC and DOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
80-CURRENT Opel Kadett/Astra 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 SOHC and DOHC (turbo and non-turbo)
Actually nearly every Opel or Vauxhall will bolt up including the V6 DOHC motors
08 Saturn Astra 1.8VVT DOHC
98-03 Daewoo Lanos 1.6 DOHC
98-03 Daewoo Leganza 2.2 DOHC
98-03 Daewoo Nubira 2.0 DOHC
04-08 Suzuki Forenza 2.0 DOHC
04-08 Suzuki Reno 2.0 DOHC
98 Isuzu Rodeo & Amigo 2.2 DOHC

LMFAO not on your life
Re: Engines list from the factory service manual
The 1.8 is the largest one that fit the Aveo.
The 1.8 (79.0mm bore X 83.4 mm stroke) is a stroked version of 1.6 (79.0mm bore X 81.5mm stroke).
The 1.4 I had is having only 77.9mm bore X 73.4mm stroke. I had since stroked it with a 1.6 Lanos crankshaft (modifying the crankshaft signal gear) and bored it with 81.0mm pistons (original 1.6 pistons is 79.0mm). Resulting in 1680cc now.
If I had used the 1.8 crankshaft with 83.4 mm stroke. It would have been 1.9 or near 2.0 liters displacement. There is no way to go beyond this. Because 81.0mm is the max bore already.

correction: the largest motor that can be knowingly swapped with the least amount of modding to the aveo is the 2.0 from the suzuki. theres a thread on here about it somewhere. would love to get my hands on a 2.0 motor for the aveo. can anyone say, sleeper?
