Its the crankshaft accessory pulley. All the way on the passenger side end of the engine.
Oh ok so thats the puley you have to access from the passenger wheel wall?

And the best thing is that we already have a DIY for it if you follow the timing belt change tut.
Yeah, installation is very easy. The only pain in the butt is that the pulley bolt is torqued on pretty hard.
So the best time to change this then is when you're doing a timing belt? How hard would it be to just change this out...

The best time to install the pulley is right away! As I said, its very easy. Basically:Originally Posted by serega12
Jack up car
Remove passenger side wheel
Remove the plastic engine bay splash shield
Remove accessory belt
Remove crankshaft accessory pulley
Install the new pulley and reassemble
The only difficult part here is getting the crankshaft pulley bolt on and off. And, now even looking at the specs its not that bad. It is supposed to be torqued to 70 ft/lbs + 30 degrees then plus another 15 degrees. Lug nuts for wheels are generally tightened the same amount.
i need to change my belts out anyways, this would be easy to do while its apart in the shop
