You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
He blew the tranny running 235 whp and 245 wtq, he was running close to 12 pounds of boost on stock internals, the guy is from Toronto. Hes running 8 to 10 pounds now pushing around 195 whp and the tranny holds fine now

well i will be running a slight expiriment i will be pushing about 175whp out of my aveo when i swap in the c20get so we will see how the tranny holds to that haha.
Two D20s actually. He used a different boost controller sometime after the first tranny went, apparently the new boost controller allowed a much bigger spike than it should have, and sincee he was right on the limit of his 2nd D20 that one went with the boost spike.Originally Posted by Nemasys

Show me a dyno run and a picture of your aveo and *maybe* I'll believe you.Originally Posted by whiteACRaveobishes

Hello Aveo owners, I stumbled accross this thread and it compelled me to register on your forum.
I am the owner of that turbo Optra you keep referencing
thought I would just clear up a few things
On my very first tune from a shop that I no longer deal with, it was putting out 175whp and 190wtq (ft lbs). The transmission (D20) was fine with that, but after about 2 months the stock clutch began to slip.
I then got a 6 puck ceramic clutch, and did a complete revamp and retune of the setup which netted me 230whp and 245wtq. That was fine for about 2 months on the stock all season tires. Within 3 days of putting on stickier tires, yes the transmission self destructed LOL.
After that I lowered the boost back down to give me right around 200 ft lbs, which seems to be the magical number for these transmissions. Being greedy for more power, I obtained an electronic boost controller in an attempt to get more top end power without more low end torque by raising boost with RPM. This worked, but the boost controller wasn't able to control boost spike too well, thus I killed another transmission hahah.
So for the past 3 months I have been running reliably back around 190whp / 200 ft lbs. If you can swap a U20SED and D20 trans into your Aveos easily I would say go for it, and then add a mild turbo setup. Makes driving these cars ALOT more fun.
