has any one gutted or just removed the cat in theirs? i am thinking about doing it to my car so get a lil deeper sound. but not sure if it will just sound bad instead? any help from experience? i was hoping it was jus mounted from both ends so i could pull it off n slap in a straight pipe n c how it sounds but it is welded. so the change would b a perminate one.
I took the resonator box out of my 08 hatch and now get a nice little tone when i'm accelerating. ofcourse if you have a cold air then this wouldn't do anything for you.
Whatever you decide, with your cat, take pics! and don't forget to look into that mod for the o2 sensor. Otherwise you will likely trip a C.E.L.

well part is but their is another baffle or somethign after it. i would pull them both out

are you talking about the secondary cat in the tunnel?

U probably should not mess with it, better off with a CAI and a sport muffler. but if u really want to remove it u can cut the pipe leaving a couple of inches on either side than when ready to re-install slip a oversize pipe betewen both ends of the pipes and use clamps.
replace it with the magnaflow CAT, much better tone, but gotta weld it in
