      Exhaust question

Hey there, i'm planning on getting a new muffler and catalytic converter soon for my 2010 sedan, and wanted to know what the inlet and outlet diameters of the pipes are, since for some reason i cant find them anywhere.

The cat is part of the headers, good luck replacing that (I'm being serious, if you're gonna try, I wish you luck)
Otherwise the pipes are 1 7/8 od or 1 3/4 id

Haven't had to mess around with my 2005 for any of this yet, but I do like to keep track of how difficult/complex the various repairs are, just in case. So, can you briefly describe the main problem(s) you had with this one?

The header is attached to the cat, so if you want/need to replace the cat, you need to change out the headers as well. After the cat there is an exhaust flange so changing the whole thing out is relatively easy, however removing just the cat would be something I would only trust a muffler shop with

Thanks - I'll file that info, and hopefully never need to actually use it

Im not sure on the new ones but on my 05 the header and cat are 2 separate items attached together.

I'm assuming you mean the cat can just be removed via bolts, which seems to correspond to the write-ups on the parts websites. So based on what Pickles wrote previously, it sounds like they changed the design to be less DIY-friendly in the newer models . When we finally get a nice warm Spring day, I'm going to crawl underneath and take a good look at mine. Did you actually change the cat in yours?

I might still have some pics I posted elsewhere on here. But it may just be the ecotecs (engine change, header change)
