      Exhuast ring??

Hi yall, Im at work right now so I cant put a picture up yet. after jacking up the car to do the rotors (which went perfectly) I noticed at the bottom of the exhaust after the cat converter where the pipe bends to run along the bootm of the car, right in front of the flex pipe/ mesh looking pipe, there was a metal ring, almost like a sheild that was totally loose and just dangling around the pipe like, well.. a ring. Just wondering if this is something bad or something that can be cut and discarded. I will try to take a pic when i can steal my wife's camera!
I havnt noticed any noise from this thing, and it seems to have rusted away and broken off. any help would be great! thanks for lookin!

Yeah mine did that too... I just cut the ring off so it would stop making noises.

Yes, mine has one too. Its on the front exhaust before the cat. I'm going to cut it off when I get a chance...

It's part of the flex pipe assembly. I don't know why it's there when new, might be from manufacturing the flex pipe.

Yep, mine had the same problem. I chopped it off like the others.
