Fast oil leak from under passenger side - SOLVED oil pressure sender

Hey guys. New here, hope you can help. About a month and a half or so ago we purchased my wife a 2008 Aveo with about 150k miles on it. A lot, I know. The car has ran mostly fine. We got an oil change about 2 weeks ago. About 3 days ago her car started dripping oil from under the passenger side of the car, but only when the car is turned on. However, the leak is very fast. I jacked the car up to take a look and found out where the oil is coming from. I'm no mechanic, in a sense you could say I'm a YouTube mechanic. It's done well for me so far, but this time I can't find any information because it's hard to describe where it's coming from. I apologize if this is obvious to some, but I'll try to post a picture here. Name: IMG_2570.jpg

Size: 285.1 KB I'm doing this from a phone so I hope this works. If not I'll hop on my computer and try again. It's a little plug with a green rubber piece around it that plugs into a port on the engine. Any idea why it's leaking? Nothing looks to be wrong but again, I'm not mechanic so I don't know how it's supposed to look.

Oil is basically pouring out here at a high rate, but only when the car is on.

      Hi Phrancheyez ...

That's your oil pressure sending unit / pressure switch.

Thanks! I saw that and thought it might be it but I wasn't sure, I'm not mechanically inclined enough to make the connection lol. Thank you

^^ like he said, its the oil pressure sending unit. You might as well just get a new sensor ($20) and a bottle of RTV to seal the threads.

You are relatively lucky , provided you have not let the engine oil get too low . Should not be a very difficult repair & the part should be about $ 10 at O'Reilly Auto Parts .

      Best of luck ,
      Wyr
      God bless
