Wow, what a thread! I too am looking to turbo my Aveo5, a 2008 manual. Have you per chance considered going with a Cruze or Sonic 1.4 turbo engine and transmission? That is my plan, find one at the yard, buy it (six speed, obviously) and fabricate to fit. ECU should just prove to be a swap. There will of course be the typical problems, considering the mass of wires! Imagine the possibilities however!
If anyone here knows that it can't be done with some simple switching around of engine mounts and melding with some wire, let me know! I would rather kill the Sonic/Cruze 1.4L turbo engine swap dream before it becomes some sort of obsession! ;)

Its very possible. Worst case you have to have mounts made, and make sure you get the donor cars ac and other accessories.. You pretty much need everything under that hood

Anything is possible and I agree that you will need everything under the hood and the ecu and main harness but it can be done

Plans are k03-005 turbo on a modified b16 Ramhorn manifold 2.5 high flow mandrel exhaust front mounted ic with seq bov Siemens injectors on a trifecta tune

I am totally investing in Maximum Boost! This is a game I am willing to play, keep us up to date hunter.
I will try to get started on the engine swap within the year (my goal, at least before summer hits, is to have definitive plans and maybe even an engine laying around!).
Oh yeah, as for the aircon, my Aveo is base!
