From what I figured up using the formulas from the book our engines should be good up to 10 but with all the stock stuff the best pressure would be 8 comfortable on the 9.5 comp
Pooh I was looking at a set of ramhorns would there be any benefit to doing a log manifold instead

Logs are primitive and old school, however they are easy to build n costs should be lower, they also help spool the turbo faster due to the turbo being so close to the motor. Ram horns look cool, cost alot more and flow better at high rpms. I saw a dyno comparison on a honda n the difference was like 40 hp- mind you 1. The motor was built 2. Running over 10psi 3. Reving to over 8000 makes a difference. For us aveo owners trying to "pioneer" a homebrew turbo I would say a log is the easiest, cheapest fabrication. I personally like the simplicity of the log style and fast spooling characteristics because I like quick throttle response and instant boost on a street car, if u want ultimate power n a track slut with a huge amount of lag the choice is yours. Everyone is different.

I'm all for both quick spool and low cost I've been going through my list and seeing what is absolutely necessary and getting that 1st I have a habit of overkill when planning lol

One question I've always had about turbo lag when adding a turbo on an n/a... won't down low power be the same as without the turbo? Or does the turbo run such different fuel maps the power is a lot different than when n/a?

If u r using an N/A motor yes, power will be the same as before. If u r on low compression pistons u would run a leaner than usual air/fuel ratio to get the pick up on ur rpms, thus getting the turbo spooling some boost. Its your car, its your call, but turbo lag is generally associated with a tradeoff for higher power. In my opinion Id prefer full boost by no later than 3000rpm and top off @160-170 as opposed to boost at over 4000 and have 200 hp. To me having all that power so far up in the revs is not usable power for 80% of my driving. As for u pickles if u like autocrossing, pick a small to mid size turbo for your predominant rpm range during competition. Other factors that can help boost quicker is a lightened flywheel n ball bearing turbos. Hunter seems to be geared towards a goal of ultimate power thus a larger turbo with a bigger compressor wheel and later onset of boost.

Yes, very clear. Most of my auto crossing is in 2nd at 3k-5k rpm. I love mid range power!

The k03 is a fairly small turbo but the way I planned out the system is for future upgrade as well. Most of my driving is between 2500 to 4k. I was looking for peak at around 5k . Future upgrade I may swap to a gt2560 ball bearing later but for now the k03 should be plenty. My big fear of the system is leaning out hence the 355 lph fuel pump and rising rate regulator I'm putting in and the other fear is over boost hence the 2 wastegate setup

I really wasnt thinkin of turbo on my 09 but I think Ill start hoarding parts till my next emissions test( a year n a half) then make the call or dump the parts cheap. Im curious what is our stock injector info/specs??? I cant find anything..# lbs/ccs, saturated or peak n hold?? Anyone? Im guessing if I source cobalt injectors tbey would be a direct plug n play, can anyone help Im lost in this injector business...
