Spa turbo is in Brazil the corsa gsi manifold has the same 9bolt pattern as our ecotecs. The flange is for a T2 small(lol) but T25/t28s sbould bolt up as well. Its priced @$246.25+ shipping( USD). I beleive its possible to build a good turbo street car for a $ 1000-1200 including a Trifecta tune(pickles says so) some used parts n a junkyard find turbo for even less.

I'm sure that if I went down the be basic road with junkyard parts thrown in I could build my whole setup for less than 750 including trifecta tune but with having the encouragement of my wife, I'm gonna build what I want
Sorry officer... with all of your stickers and strobes I thought you wanted to race

I dont know who has seen this but BNR( bad news racing ) has a prototype turbo manifold for the 1.8 ecotecs. Its a ram horn style with external wastegate. It looks gorgeous but to me its overkill- Im sure it will be $6-800. To run 6-8psi on stock internals its too much. Im begini.g to wonder wby the budget tuner crowd hasn t developed a cheap log manifold- they spool fast, and are perfect for low boost street cars. The only downside to logs are on higher boost at higher revs wherethey loose efficiency. Im debating the turbo project but Im really tempted bust out a homemade old school log manifold and a junkyard T3 , and a VW aftermarket intercooler( short & long) and let trifecta tune it.

You think 6-8 is too much on stock internals? I was thinking the car should be able to handle 7psi

I tbink we r both in the right neighborhood- alot would depend on the tune in which I think Trifecta is awesome in the fact that he pulls great #sout of boosted engines. However, Im staying on the safe side,I think 10psi is even possible .Im going to start salvaging parts for a homebrew kit based on a GM parts bin theme-I ll be scraping parts off old Saabs n maybe a Vauxhall/ Opel, but I am hesitant due to emissions, I hate Illinois 2 year testing program

Tehe, I already have no cats. And yeah I thought you were saying 6-8 was high. I'm still on the hunt for a high capacity clutch that will work. Stock is apparently rated for 150tq. I will probably be at that limit at 7 psi. That's what's keeping me from doing this. Bnr was supposed to get back to me on clutch measurements for the 1.8 sonic, but I never heard anything back.

Google vauxhall f16 clutch. The trans in our cars has been used in europe, asia, n soth africa since the early 90s. I beleive xiogary n nemysis looked for this as well, but a company called black diamond in europe has 3 stages. I was thinking along ur line that a better clutch is needed along with a shaved factory flywheel- maybe down to 10/12 lbs.

By the way if the clutch is rated at 150 FLYWHEEL you may already be getting close. The 1.6 euros have been able to get 140s with bolt on n ecu remaps. Our cars are similar but Id bet you have to b about 10hp flywheel higher- tune +catless +larger primaries in the header. In short u r not far off from an upgrade, boost would easily surpass those #s.
