Never reuse any gasket
any one know a good place to order a gasket set from?
felpro?
if ur gonna get new internals, you might as well go with the high compression wiesco pistons that daftart.com sells...you will have SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more power
and need higher octane gas. But if that's not a problem...I'd say go for it.Quote:

Tried my code reader but all I get is error. Cant link to the computer. I check wiring again, took it for another ride and now it wont stay idleing. WOW! I think I answered my own problem. What you guys think?
shoot some ideas at me

possible failure of one of the sensors? map, maf, tps, oxy?
if it doesnt stay idling then it is most likely a sensor, when i got water in my engine, my tps got damaged and now when i accelerate and hit about 3100 rpm the engine hesitates for a second and sometimes throws a CEL, it goes away when i drive it 3 or 4 different times, ive been too lazy to replace that tps sensor, its relitavely cheap, about 25 bucks
it might be the timing to like you said
The same thing happened to me in a 96 Chrysler Concorde (stock air filter) driving threw a large puddle. I was told that the engine was seized.
You should really contact your insurance provider if you haven’t yet.
Manitoba Public Insurance swaped my whole engine as part of my claim. I know your insurance might be different but you should still contact them to at least find out for sure.
DANG! Still can figure out why my code reader wont link to my car. Wondering if theres something hookup wrong. I check everything over 3 times. Must be missing something.
Flashing check engine light indicates a misfire (or what the computer thinks is a misfire). The code generally reads something along "Misfire in one or more cylinders" or something equally as cryptic. This is tricky to diagnose, because if the o2 sensor is bad, it could just be sending back incorrect data that the computer interprets as a misfire.
If you smell gas from the exhaust it could be something as simple as a plug wire not being seated correctly.
If not the ignition system, in my experience it's usually the upstream o2 sensor sending bad data to the computer.
Thanks, exodus
Took it to my machanic, to figure it out. Should here something tomorrow. But thanks for info. Good info to remember. Dont have the time to work on it anymore. To much stuff going on right now.
bet its the timing if the timing was done and it is off it will idle wrong and eventually the belt will come off of the cam. becareful we got interferance motors here. that timing belt snaps bye bye motor internals.
more than likely make sure the timing was done right
there is no way to time these cars other than the proper alignment of the timing belt right?
my belt slipped once and the timing was off but the engine still held together...it ran like crapQuote:

Ok,
Everything is good. Car runs great. It was the timing, one tooth off. The flashing check engine light was the cam and crank sensors. They where apart to long, had to be synced togther. (relearned).
The only thing having problem with is the airbag light. It stays on, doesnt go off.
Thanks so much for helping me with my car guys. It was the first time Ive ever disassembled and reassembled a engine.
Todd
did you get any water in your interior?
No, thank godQuote:

yeah!! tricky is back up and running!!! welcome back!! now what are you going to do about the airbag light?
I got my CAI on ebay. the seller name is chrome intakes. the best about these is that it could be a CAI or short ram. but pay attention to the price. if its around $65 then thats the good that comes with a K&N filter. it also comes with step by step instructions. when i have my intake in CAI mode i use an AEM bypass insted of a coupler, cause im too lazy to cut the pipe
