      Freeze plug heater

I am installing a Katz freeze plug heater part # 11405 in my 2006 Aveo 1.6 automatic. I believe I have found the correct freeze plug and was wondering if the hole is in fact threaded. I have called the manufacturer tech line to confirm location of freeze plug. But I am still concerned that after I take out the old freeze plug if the threads are there. Anyone else do this themselves?

BTW I am going to working the in the North Dakota oil fields and I know it gets cold there. Changed oil to Synthetic 0w20 today. Any other recommendations?
