Ah I know why it's three wires. One of the wires is the fuel gauge. So you should be able to see which of the two wires go directly the motor (black and red and that's a guess). Put 12 volts on those wires and the fuel pump should run. Ok if that works, then the pump should be ok. So when you identify the two wires for signal, put a volt-meter on those two wires (female connector) and turn your key to accessory. Most cars pressurize the fuel rail at that point. So you should get a signal. I tried looking at the schematic (2004) and I could not find what signals the fuel pump relay.
