So I've noticed recently, last month or so, my car is making an odd noise when shifting in to gears 1-3. That being said here is how I'm going to describe the noise.
When you were a kid, everyone flipped the door stops. Made an awesome noise. When my kid figured it out, laid on the floor flipping the piss out of it for like 20 mins.
But for a brief second, you hear that noise when I shift. 2004 Aveo hatch 5 speed trans.
Best thing i can recommend is to take a quick video that captures the sound and up it to you tube and link it here. Its almost impossible to diagnose otherwise.

Like right at the 12.5-13 second range, its very subtle if you aren't paying attention you won't think anything of it.
