      manufacturing cost and emission restrictions play a big roll as well. it's just not practical for a manufacturer to use a tubular turbo header.

      tubular headers are also use not just because of the better flow characteristics but to allow different turbos, turbo configuration, external waste gates.

      the only reason manufacturers use 8.5:1 compression is to get the best performance on the cheapest gas and that makes it near impossible for detonation.

      Both the manifolds shown have external wastegates. Also, emissions really isnt a problem there because I have seen many instances that an external wastegate is re-routed back into the exhaust. But yeah, I cant think of any cars came with a tubular mani from the factory.

      and you can replace the pistons by yourself? or you have to go to an auto shop for it?

      Depends on how talented you are. But because you had to ask, I would say go ahead and take it in.

      just buy reading this thread and a few other boosting threads I can see a lot aveos blowing engines because of people just jumping into it....to do it right you need to do a lot of research

      yea but you cant just got by posts on the forum because there will be people who dont know much and will still post like they know everything...im just putting the warning out there for newbs

      That looks like a crush bender to me... For the Aveo it won't make much of a difference between Crush and Mandrel, but the Mandrel is much better quality...
