Honda and Toyota both do, with the help of variable valve timing, so does Hyundai but with 10.0:1. Something we definately don't have.

Because timing is ajusted with the help of the oxygen sensors, air intake temp, maf sensor and the knock sensor. Although the ecu is programmed for 87 octane and 9.5 compression, I believe higher compression and the right octane fuel will still yield good results.

I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

yes but as gse_turbo said you will need atleast a piggyback to run highcompression piston, therefore with a good amount of tuning you can get the aveo to run 87 octane using 10.5:1 but you could and probably will get better gains if you go up to 89-91 and mess with the timing

I wouldn't do it plain and simple... You'll lose a ton of gas mileage, and without adjusting the timing your car will stutter at idle...

Cramming more air with the same amount of fuel... gonna run EVEN LEANER... and these cars already run pretty lean...

thats why i said you will be using a piggyback or standalone if your adding higher compression pistons, there for you change the fuel curve with tuning....im not saying its the best to run 87 but if your a cheapo you could

Well just to keep everyone from having to wait longer than necessary I will start "officially" collecting on Tuesday, Feb the 4th (closed Sunday and Monday) and the dead line will be Friday, Feb 29. Early payment are also going to be excepted.

Your order will be started the day that the payment is cleared so the sooner the better.

well all the manufactured measurement is based on the .051. if you keep with that and choose 10.5:1 (or what have you) the measurement is simple. If you choose 10.5:1 and a thinner gasket than the CR will increase but now you have to all the specks to know what the CR is changed to.

I'd say you are best off with 79mm and .051 gasket
