It looks like these guys make headers for the Lanos 1.6. This would fit Aveo - right? Anyone tried contacting them?

yeah shipping would probably be high, but if the cost of the header isnt too bad then it will be a trade off.
im seeing the light blue ceramic coating on headers now (venezuela and steve's auto clinic).... do you think any of these places will do anything besides this blue color? A silver or black would be a great universal color to do. I dont see why they would want a bright blue....
DHL delivers almost anywhere, i think i can try to get a discount through Dell since i am a sub-contractor for them, shipping shouldnt be more than 40 bucks....
good news
man if we could get headers to the u.s. for less than 150$ that would be almost a dream come true. next best thing would be FREE :bs: . hopes and dreams-hahah!
After some digging here is the pages for their email addresses. I used the online form the first time. I'm going to try the email they have for Cape Town.

I used my personal email, only i used:
SAC Branches - Country Wide
SAC Holdings
3 Flaubert st, CW6,
Vanderbijlpark,
Gauteng, South Africa.
Tel: +27 016 981 1033
Fax: +27 016 981 1062
email: sac.vdb@mweb.co.za
I thought it made more sence since it is the Country wide Bracnch.
I still havent gotten anything, Maybe I'll email them again.
Emailed again.
i as well sent another e-mail. this kind of sucks that noone is getting a response. i wonder whats goin on.
ive got international long distance calling on my phone for free. I tried calling with 1 then the number and with 011 then the number. neither number worked. i also tried the cylinder head specialists. Any other thoughts?
they have a list of chevrolet parts and they list the aveo as something they make headers for but i dont see anything for the lanos. which doesnt really matter since they already make headers for the aveo.
It looks like "B024-040" is the part number for "CHEVROLET AVEO 1,5L". It might be worth just asking for the price on this - then follow up with a question if they would ship internationally. They probably do not want to get in to shipping Internationally - this is my guess as to why they have not replied. I think I'll try one last email to them.Quote:

I think im gonna want some headers after I get my car back from the dealership cause they gave me a Cobalt to drive around until they get my car done. So I'll be driving the Cobalt for about 6 days.
Im gonna want more power lol
ima try messaging them and posing as if i am within their state, lol lets see if they respond....
I got a reply back. The message was, "Hi Brian,
I'll forward your message directly Wildcat , manufacturers of the headers.
Best Regards,
Marinus Kuyl
SAC Kyalami (Petrol)

I thanked Marinus, and asked if I could get Wilcat's eamil address.

I got what looked like a canned reponse from Frik, pres. of Wildcat. The email asked me to fill out an on line form with details, and he would get back with me. I did this. I'll let you guys know what he responds back with.
- W
I also filled a form out that was on their website, but it didnt have any details on what its about... just name, email, and where you are from.
but i still dont have anything.
I am in contact with Barney representing Wildcat. One problem is that the header they make is for right hand drive cars. If anyone can forward me good pics of the stock header for our USA (left hand drive) Aveo's - that will help things along. They will have to build a new mold for the USA/left hand drive cars - but it sounds like they are willing to do this. I am trying to get a price.

Is there any difference as far as the engine mounting/placement when it comes to right-hand vs. left-hand drive??
I also have both a stock exhaust manifold and a turbo one I can take pictures of, just that they are not installed on the car (well, I have a stock one installed, but the heat sheild covers it right now).
As far as I know they are the same exact engine. It shouldnt matter if its LH or RH drive.
But, I believe I get my car back tomorrow (should of had it two days ago but they keep skewing up my valves), I'll take a picture.... unless whiteraven beats me to it.
i dont think it should matter if it is LHD or RHD...
Here is my last exchange with Barney:
===============================================
Hi Woody,
Another photo won’t be necessary. If we had a sample or a detailed drawing it would be easy to manufacture it for you.
Regards
Barney

Barney,
What kind of money are we talking to manufacture, and ship?
BTW - there are MANY Aveo (and Daewoo) drivers that are BADLY looking for performance parts up here. I can not commit for them - but my guess is that MANY will want the exhaust header. Browse the forum below and you will see what I mean:
http://www.aveoclub.net/phpBB2/
pics of left hand drive header:
http://www.aveoclub.net/phpBB2/viewtopi ... ght=header
If those are not complete enough I will do some of my own car this weekend and send.
Thanks,
- Woody

So at this point I do not have costs from Barney - either for manufacture, or shipping. I am trying to get costs from Barney if I can provide him a "sample".
- W
Maybe I'm getting the run around. We will find out.Quote:

brian has the DVE one (from Australia), and it was from a Daewoo Lanos, he had to cut the down pipe (pipe from first cat to the first muffler).
Here is the latest from Barney:
===========================================
Hi Woody,
The cost will be in the area of $327 US. It is a bit expensive but that is because the production line will have to be broken to specially manufacture this branch for you. If you get two or three other guys or more to order one, the price will be able to go down. I won’t be able to give you a quote on the shipment at the moment as I don’t know what the dimensions and weight of the box is going to be.
Regards
Barney
==============================================
If I can get Barney's address, can anyone donate a header?
- W
well it looks like the DVE one from australia will be cheaper unless the price drops about $50 per header for two or three orders.
I got a spare exhaust manifold I could donate...but who pays shipping?
But the DVE needs to be tweaked with doesn't it? This one would be a bolt on.Quote:

You should find out if you have to cut the down pipe for the Wildcat Header.
If it truely is a direct bolt on, It MAY be worth it. That way if you ever decide to turn your car back to stock you can just simply take it off and put it back to stock.
I say before we go ahead and by a wild cat header.... see how much the Venezuela Headers are. Im talking to two people there that are trying to help us out.
i think you have to cut the downpipe to use the existing exhaust.
if it were me i would pull all the stock exhaust and put in storage for later on and drive it with just the header on it to a muffler shop and let them do your exhaust all the way from headers back.
