Heat Wrap on Exhaust and CAI Question/Discussion

Still set on 2" mandrel bent exhaust retaining closed loop next, but still researching, which leads me to my question.

On motorcycles you often see heat tape wrapped exhausts to keep it hot and keep the exit speed up, and I guess cooler to the touch. I have seen this on turbo charge pipes too.

If one were to heat wrap the CAI, would this keep the IAT cooler? If yes would it be useful on the Aveo? (ie. cost vs. benefit)

Not wanting to get into opinion just wondering if anyone on the forum has experience with this. I have been studying how the intake temperature changes these days what with snow falling now, and do understand that aluminum is lightweight and has such a high heat transfer coefficient.

generally yes, but the heat wrap serves a second purpose as well, getting heat out of the exhaust faster (like you said) also keeps overall engine temp lower (not combustion temp, but operating temp). Doing the same will help with heat soak on a cai. but when your moving at 20mph or higher, it will have "little" effect on intake air temperature.
