Post Hello from Cold Regina, Saskatchewan: spark plugs, oxygen sensor, intake?

Good Morning, afternoon, evening, or wherever your hanging out in this world.

This is I believe my 2nd, or 3rd message since joining this site. I do need to show myself more.

I am the proud owner of a 2009 G3 Wave sedan, 5 spd, less then 87,000 kms, I've owned the car 2 1/2 yrs.

      Many questions to ask.
My girlfriend & I are heading on 2 trips to both coasts here in Canada next year. Not cheap.
this means limited budget on the car. Mostly cosmetic for now.
I have struts to replace, oxygen sensor to be replaced and a couple other items. Any parts I should ask for to get better results as a daily driver. $1500.00 plus tax for these parts.

      After Market items.
      1) Spark plugs: here in Canada who has had great success with decent economy and a little get up and go. I know spark plugs are what they are not major boosters.

      2) Air Intake: what's the best to be considered (short air), or (cold air) I've used cold air on my previous Accord. As well exhaust system. I'm not drag racing, but I do take long drives with the girl friend.

These are the starts once the 2 trips are budgeted for, then I can start on my car.

Thanks all for looking and replying.

Hello Regina. I'd get the O2 sensor changed asap. Don't want to kill your catalytic converter if your car is running rich. Run the basic NGK copper/nickel plugs. '09+ Aveos seem to like them best. If you're on your originals with 87,000kms, you should see a nice increase, they were due at 60,000. Super easy to change out (if I recall you need one larger torx bit).

I personally wouldn't do any air intake. At least it wouldn't be very high on my priority list. I've had them on a couple of my Mustangs before. I don't think you'll see much in terms of performance.
