      Highest Compression on Factory?

Hey guys, I finally found a performance guru to help me out with this engine of ours.
Anyway he looked over the blue-print and found our compression was stock at 9.8:1. Which apparently he thinks is oddly high for such a low output of an engine.

Anyway when discussing the options he said supercharging is out of the question for this engine and space - too much time and effort

For Turbo - He said can be done, if we can get D19 Exhaust systems which have parts already done - we can fabricate the rest and add the charger, and do manual engine management (Which I have no-idea what that is and sounds scary)

But what he honestly suggested surprised me - he said to do a "50 Shot of Wet".... as in NOS lines. The only thing he was concerned with is how high of a compression stock can handle. I have a CAI and Straight Pipe exhaust which will help with the added heat.

Anyone know what our gaskets handle? I definitely do not want to double up gaskets if I can avoid it and most of all change anything in the cylinder

Doesn't the ecotech and the etec II, use the same internals I guess I really don't know.
Just from the estimates him and I discussed (He is a friend and giving me VERY generous pricing). The NOS install is going to be cheaper then what I paid XaioGary for the headers

But I think it may help my problem of struggling to merge on the highway because my car has like zero response as far as going faster

The e-tec II and ecotec are completely different engines. And rabbit is right about the engine compression. The reason for the lack of output is the cams. I don't know about the ecotec, but I know the e-tec II runs out of steam at about 5500 rpm.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

So what exactly about the cams that is killing the ouput? And how do I go about addressing it?
I mean I heard people getting lighter weight cams but is there more to it? And the big question is do guys
think the cylinder will hold a 50 shot fine?from what it looks like it shouldn't really be an issue, but I have
never played around with it before
