During the winter I put in a short air ram intake. I picked it up off of Ebay for $20.00 plus $16.00 for shipping. It was a cold air intake designed for a Honda, but with a little work it fit in my 2009 Aveo 5 like a glove.
Here’s the pics.
Unless your filter is REALLY low to the ground where your entire filter is going to possibly be submerged in water, you really don't need the bypass. I've ran CAI's that have the filter in the bumper right in front of the front tires with an open grill directly in front of them, and I've never had a problem. I can remember a few times when I was a bit worried about it during some good downpours, but it was all for naught. So, personally, I wouldn't bother.
Does anyone know where you can buy the tubing to make one? i have a SRI off my buddies Honda and I wanna make a CAI. But dont really wanna wait to order off ebay. was hoping i could pick it up somewhere local.
for the price, ebay is your best bet. i hate to say it. especially when you need to be shopping for bends and such.
otherwise, you could measure the size of the pipe you already used and hit up an exhaust shop for some stainless. it wont be polished/chrome but it will better metal than the ebay piece. expect $20-45 a foot for the pipe and then at least $10 a cut, bend and clean edge..
Enh...I was hoping that the plastic pipiing would be used in some other industry. I know I can use dryer piping, lol, but id rather be less ghetto for the time being.

oreilly auto parts sells everything you would need from the company spectre
What are you guys doing with your sensor? I have that black MAS just bolted inline with the piping, but it seems that might not be the best route for smooth air travel. anyone take it apart and mount it in the tubing a diffrent way?
