Alright correct me if i am wrong but i think the 1.6 lanos has a non-plastic (maybe aluminum) intake manifold. If this is true is there a way to get it?

The Lanos metal intake manifold WILL NOT fit the Aveo. You would have to replace the head with one off of the Lanos. Look it up in past posts. You will see why

Yeah I remember this being talked about before. I just thought he'd go ahead and do it anyway. I got one for sale if anyone wants it!

What about wiring? Have you done this 'easy swap'?

everything will fit, it's just the way the manifold fits to the head that is different.

I have not done this "easy" swap.... I don't have an Aveo..... but Tom(360Dynamics) should have an Aveo motor shortly and I should have a Lanos 1.6L by mid summer..... so I can certainly look and see if there are any additional issues.
I am pretty sure there is nothing surprizing to the swap...... everything is pretty much identical.
The one thing I was wondering is if the Aveo's Delphi system was a returnless fuel system.... it's been a while since I had an Aveo apart so I can't remember.
My Optra5 has a returnless system.... which is different than the Daewoo AC Delco return fuel systems used in the Lanos, Nubira, Leganza.
To me.... that's the only thing that has to be checked out.
I will be converting to a return system if I ever go ahead with my Optra5 turbo engine (technically it's a forenza engine)
Right now I'm waiting to hear back from insurance to see what route I will have to follow to do some extreem modifications of my Optra5.... thus far it's pretty mild.... underdrive pulley, CAI, Mandrel 2.5" Cat back exhaust, Magnaflow muffler and a SAFCII
The plan was to drop a prepared Forenza engine with a nice T3/T4 and run around 15psi to 18psi (forged JE Pistons, C20LET Connecting rods, ARP studs/bolts on top and bottom end)
I'm currently focusing on getting my 2.0L 8V Turbo Lemans/Optima on the road.... I cut off the front end of the car and welded on a new one from a donor car that had never been in an accident.... all the welding is done.... have 50% of the welds ground down.... just have to finish a few spots... bondo it.... prime and then paint it..... then it's off to the dyno for "stock" numbers.
