You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
what would you figure the tq would be if you run 150-160 flywheel hp? thats with fi. either turbo or s/c. probably s/c because they are more efficient.
this thread is just a guessing game...you can't really know till you tune and dyno it...ive seen plenty of the same setups run totally different number, including stock engines
I believe I'm gonna be N/A... Thats the Plan as of right now atleast.
What kinds of power you think some middle profile cams, race headers, 2" exhaust, 10.5:1 pistons, CAI and a tune would bring me? Also to get a bit more power to the ground it's be stiffening up things and lighter wheels, etc...
any other ideas/suggestions?
:edit:
after reading sams post....
well whats some numbers you guys have seen with a setup like that?
From Daewootech reguarding the D16 Transmission.

hey
did i read soemwhere that you have 240HP and 300Nm and that you have a D16 manual transmission?
300Nm equals about 222 ft-lbs of tQ, right?
if this is true, did you do anything to the transmission or is it stock?
and have you had any problems?

Around that... I didn't have this confirmed... I did confirm on MAHA dyno-brake with 40HP NOS shoot, 211HP and 257Nm... With 70HP, it would be around 240HP and 300Nm... So yes...
D16 is stock...
Thats A LOT more than 160 Ft/Lbs of tQ.
Aveosam is probably right... its all a guessing game. But 160-240 is a huge difference.
It is a huge difference. But I bet my D20 trans would stand up to a couple 300 wtq dyno pulls before it breaks. When my other ones broke, it was right away, it took time and driving around boosting before anything happened. It seems the metal eventually fatigues and gives out.Originally Posted by xstevex

He has 205Nm (150 ft/lbs of tQ) going to the D16 everyday for the past 40k miles. he occasionally uses nitrous and boosts it to 300Nm (220 ft'lbs of tQ).
So it looks like what he's doing falls into the 160 ft/lbs of torque just as we have been thinking. There is probably bad wear from him pushing 220 ft/lbs though.
Thats the one of highest torque rating ive seen, I just pm'd someone with 275 whp and 237 ft lbs torque also. I'll post what he tells me.
the guy with 275 whp and 237 ft lbs torque was running an F18 transmission... so not a d16
That's still allot thoughOriginally Posted by xstevex
yeah it is, but im looking for people who are pushing the d16 past 150 ft/lbs. he is doing it but he has a different transmission. he does have our 1.6 though.
people have been pushing our engines at like close to 200hp, but they swapped transmissions. so really the only thing holding us back is the tranny.
