what size is the intake? 3"? Id like to see how the engine would fair with a 2.5" or 2.75" intake pipe, but damn that intake is hella nice looking. is there any bracing on the intake?

i dont know what size it is, but its the same diamater as the tb, and it has a brace where the hole is, its kinda cut off in the picture.
nevermind i see the bracing at the bottom
Are any of you putting the stock unit back in just for winter cold driving?
there is no such thing as winter in southern california lol
why? itll just be an extra cold air intakeQuote:

air filter sits in the fenderwell. You'll have to remove the resonator there.
Not too many people have dyno'd their Aveo so it's hard to know exact numbers.
I'm on an Elantra board where people have done baseline + mod dynos. I know it's not a direct comparison, but it's something to work with (dyno on 4 cyl MAP based engine):
barring heat soak (i.e. hood open so the SRI gets a lot less underhood hot air) both the SRI and CAI (same filter, same tube diameter) gave the same HP gains, ~5 hp. The CAI also had 5 lb-ft torque increase, while the SRI did not show any increase in torque (longer tube of the CAI increases air intake velocity... dunno how VGIS would affect this).
Now it you take into account underhood temps, SRI gains vs the CAI will decrease fo'sho.

read my test results on page 4 about the raised hood! also may help you decide which route to go.
Just got mine in earlier today.
Heres Some pics.
Its definitely Not as Deep as my SRI but I Like the new sound pretty good.

I HATE the sound...but I guess that's the trade off for the tiny bit of pick up we get with it.
hate is such a strong word, dont hate. lmao!Quote:

use the search button, its mentioned 3-4x on the forum! really it is, trust me.
Is it right that I was getting only 3500-4000 RPMs at 90mph?
what?Quote:

hhhmmmm i got full ram intake and at 5000 rpms in fifth gear i am around 110-115.
yea i definitley noticed a decrease in my aveos "pick-up & Go" when i got rid of the sri and put in the cai.
dude full ram intake is the way to the future...........
yea you lose the umph in the low end with the 3" CAI on this tiny engine, one of these day i want to try and do 2.5" pipe to see if itll give the umph back but keep the top endQuote:

i made the 3" intake from GSR kit and i liked it because i could **** up some other ****ty cars on the e-way lol. but its a killer from a dig.
